This afternoon’s shoot was a Father’s Day present from these three gorgeous boys for their dad. Lovely to capture this moment before the change in dynamics that comes with a move to high school and the teenage years.

I always feel honoured to be invited into a couple’s journey to parenthood and to hear their stories. I was delighted to finally meet Jacob and photograph him being wrapped in love by his parents.

There has been a readjustment in the hierarchy in this family, and although still very much loved, the dog Byron has slipped down to second place.

We had postponed our session a few times due to bad weather, but we finally nailed a perfect Spring afternoon with gorgeous, soft light. And the beautiful Florence brought along a few of her favourites from her toy collection to be immortalised in the family shoot.

I photographed Eadie as a newborn, swaddled and cradled in her mother’s arms. So delighted to see her back again, wearing her special dress and all grown up on her mother’s knee.

Lexi visited me a few years ago when she had a Cake Smash session for her first birthday. I get the sense she was sitting politely through her BLOOM mini-session, waiting for the moment when I came good and produced another cake for her. Sorry to disappoint.

After a week of pushing beyond her comfort zone and conquering her fears, Amelia still had enough big smiles left for me during our session.

Dad’s shirt provided a touch of blue rebellion, but you can’t hide the fact he is now seriously outnumbered in the gender stakes at home. And I think he is perfectly happy with that.

With the weather warming up, it’s such a gorgeous time of the year for outdoor photo sessions. Daylight Savings starts on 4 October and sunset shoots are pushed back an hour later. If you have young children and were thinking of having a sunset family shoot, the next few weeks are gold.
