I was invited down to Berry yesterday to photograph an extended family get together to celebrate some important birthdays. I love when families make the time to get everyone together … making memories and connections.

It’s such a privilege to be asked into a family’s home to photograph their new baby. It’s like walking into a cocoon of emotion, love and wonder. When the family’s whole world is tipped upside down and run to a new, demanding schedule. Welcome to this beautiful world, gorgeous Indiana.

Just seven days into this new relationship, things are looking just perfect.

I loved the anticipation of walking around NY with my camera, confident there was always going to be something to photograph. From the sublime to the ridiculous, and generally everything in between. Finding a group of girls practicing their ballet under one of the archways, a perfect gift from the photography gods!

Found this photo taken last year … my husband providing guidance into the world of male grooming. From the heady excitement of that day, it has just become another teenage chore, and not the gateway to manhood my son had anticipated.

With two big sisters, this gorgeous little man is never going to be short on love … or advice. One sister is completely smitten and the other is taking a more tentative approach, pondering this new addition to the family and exactly how it’s going to impact on her.
