The slideshow from Fiona’s family shoot last week down at North Curly beach. It’s a wonderful thing to take some time out and capture your family before all three children are adults.

Our Kombi Lola gets a whole lot of love, and she even made an appearance in one of my family shoots down the beach last week.
When I shoot a family session, I always encourage the parents to get some photos together. Often there is a bit of laughter and hesitation, as the couples realise they haven’t had photos taken together since their wedding. Boyana and Peter needed no prompting …. these two are such romantics and it was so sweet to watch such genuine affection between them.
To all the beautiful mothers who have allowed me to capture part of their journey over the last year, I am so grateful to have worked with you and wish you love and happiness today. And for the mothers I’ve photographed through Heartfelt, my thoughts and love are with you today X
Coordinating the schedules of a family with grown children can be challenging, but we found a time to get everyone together for a shoot. Gorgeous afternoon light down at North Curly beach at this time of year. The family shoot was a present for Fiona from her sister. Happy Birthday Fiona!
With both sets of grandparents in town for a first birthday party, it was a great time to get some photos of the whole family together. With shelves and baskets filled with books, it was a wonderful house to photograph in, with my favourite props easily to hand in each room.
With a riot of curls and big belly laughs, Nathan made today’s Cake Smash a whole lot of fun. Oh, and a whole lot of mess. But that’s a good thing.
I love event photography, but it was an added bonus to also be the birthday girl at this party. My husband and I combined birthdays and celebrated with a retro themed weekend away in Berry. Bel-Air House proved the perfect venue, as it’s also affectionately known as The Thunderbirds House.
I’ve got this great kite that my children used to play with when they were toddlers. I’ll often bring it along to an outdoor shoot so the children can release some energy and have a break from all the hard work of smiling for the camera. I sometimes find that it’s not only the children that want to play.
A big shout out to the talented Jenny Jackson who always delivers immaculate looking cakes for my Cake Smash sessions. My discerning one-year old clients quickly put the cakes through a thorough testing regime; sitting on them, rolling them upside down and pulling them apart. As you can see, they always pass the taste test as well.
I love not knowing how every child is going to react during a Cake Smash session. You place the cake in front of them and just sit back with the camera and see what unfolds. Max managed to smash his cake without even noticing.
Such beautiful conditions for a family shoot this afternoon. An empty beach, gorgeous afternoon light and two well-mannered young men, happy to still get cuddles from their mum.
