What a wonderful gift for any child, to find something you are passionate about and then to have your mother able to literally show you the ropes. A joy to photograph this mother and daughter team as they spent time with their beautifully behaved horses, Lola and Ernie.

I love the variety in my job and spent a gorgeous afternoon around the horse stables photographing the relationship between a girl and her horse. Then Vinnie the dog comes in as we were finishing and steals the show.

I take hundreds of photos during a family session, and sometimes one photo stands out as capturing the family dynamic perfectly. This is the ‘one’ from this afternoon’s session.

After 15 weeks of lockdown, Charlotte was very excited to be let out in time to celebrate her first birthday today. And what better way to end our session than with a relax in a bubble bath.

A bit more rigorous testing of the Christmas set by the delightful Clara. She came dressed in her golden ballet outfit from when she danced in a performance of The Nutcracker. What other ballet could it have been with a name like that?
