Great to get away for the weekend and stay in our friend’s amazing little cottage in the Blue Mountains. Nice to have a break from being behind the camera, so I took along my very capable photography assistant for this shot. He also proved very handy at catering and making cups of tea in the morning. After 32 years together, he has learnt a thing or two about composition and framing the shot.

Since when have one year old’s learnt the subtle art of the raised eyebrow?

The biggest compliment I receive is to be invited back to photograph the changing dynamic of families. It was lovely to capture the sweet moments of this beautiful mother-daughter relationship, and see what a difference 1 1/2 years make.

What a joy to have so many incredible locations on the Northern Beaches to use as my ‘office’ for outdoor sessions. An almost Jurassic jungle feel for Johnny + Audrey to explore on the weekend.

It’s a winning combination. Sunshine. Saltwater. Grandparents that haven’t seen their grandchildren for two years. A beautiful way to spend the afternoon.

I love the timeless and classic nature of B+W photos, so in my packages you receive your colour photos in an online gallery, and the whole set also converted to B+W.

I brought this swim cap home from Canada for my elderly neighbour Vera and we have had loads of fun over the years with photo shoots down the beach. Audrey has the required level of sass to wear it and we gave it a run this afternoon.

With borders open and restrictions eased, it’s wonderful that family can travel interstate again to visit for the holidays. And a perfect afternoon today to capture the whole gang together.

Charlotte’s grandparents have had to patiently wait a year and a half to be able to fly from South Africa to meet her. No wonder today’s hugs were so very special.
