Guides …

Sometimes the hardest part of organising a photo session is working out what everyone is going to wear. I’ve made it a little easier and will send you a Preparation Guide after you have booked. This has tips on what to wear and some photos to provide inspiration (like the gorgeous + stylish Bojana and her boys).

Snug …

I don’t use props and complex poses in my newborn sessions, but I do have a gorgeous Moses basket that I can use if you like. Perfect for those snuggled up images that show how little they are in the very beginning.

Early sunsets …

If you have young children, now’s the time to head outdoors for an afternoon photo shoot. The beaches are uncrowded, the light is beautiful and the earlier sunset means we are finished before 5pm, which is a lot easier than wrangling toddlers for an 8pm Summer sunset.

Mother’s Day …

Thank you to all the mothers who have allowed me into their lives to document a little part of their role this year. Mothers in the sleep deprived, heady days with a newborn, mothers juggling the ever changing demands of a family, grandmothers that have proudly looked back on their family spreading across the generations, and the grieving mothers I have been humbled to photograph through Heartfelt. Apologies for not including all the mothers I was delighted to photograph at Christmas, but this would have added another 60 faces to the video! Enjoy your day on Sunday X

Blackheath …

Great to get away for the weekend and stay in our friend’s amazing little cottage in the Blue Mountains. Nice to have a break from being behind the camera, so I took along my very capable photography assistant for this shot. He also proved very handy at catering and making cups of tea in the morning. After 32 years together, he has learnt a thing or two about composition and framing the shot.
