One of the fringe benefits of motherhood

Heading into a beach session on the weekend, I was delighted to see the wattle in full, gorgeous bloom. And with no crowds and earlier afternoon sessions, it’s a great time of year for outdoor family shoots.

I can’t believe this will be my 10th year of offering Christmas mini-sessions! I’m always delighted to continue the tradition and photograph the changes in the families that keep coming back each year. Previous years have sold out quickly, so that’s why I will be opening up bookings just for my current families before sharing the spots publicly.

Meeting a family for a photo shoot, I usually sense that the Dads are often a little reluctant to be there. But when they embrace the moment, and really interact with their children, that’s when the magic happens. What fabulous memories for these girls to have of their Dad .

That new baby smell is just delicious! Someone referred to it like a loaf of bread, fresh from the oven .

There’s a lot of planning that goes on behind the scenes for my Christmas mini-sessions, and I had some fabulous helpers test out the set on the weekend. And yes, there will be snow this year! Stay tuned

I’ve just been up the coast helping my parents move house, and have come back home with all their photo albums. Remember that world before digitals? Cupboards full of yellowing albums. Some absolute treasures in there, and I’m keen to preserve the images so they can be handed down to the generations that follow. Sort, scan and share. But first, I’m going to need more coffee!
