That wonderful feeling when you wake up and realise that your whole day is just going to involve taking naps and having people look after you. Does life get any better?

I love having a wealth of historical family photos to delve into and am always so grateful that images have been taken, preserved, and handed down through the family.

I knew my grandmother Kate as the artist in the last photo. On sleepovers we would have tea and marmalade toast in bed, then she would take me into her studio and let me paint beside her. Such a wonderful gift to see the images of her as a toddler, a teenager, then as a wife and mother.

For a little boy keen on exploring his world at a fast pace, Walter would also stop perfectly still and stare directly through my lens. Well, hello there.

I’ve been photographing Freya for nearly 3 years now and it’s been a delight to watch her grow and become less shy in front of my camera.

Being 4 is a time of big responsibilities. Lying in the sunshine. Digging in the dirt. Dreaming.

While her two brothers went exploring, Andie seemed perfectly happy to just sit quietly in the teepee and enjoy a moment of calm. Having three brothers myself, I understand you’ve got to embrace that serenity wherever you find it.

It’s such a privilege to be invited into a couple’s journey to becoming parents and to capture this moment for them. Hearing their stories. Watching how gentle and loving they are together. Knowing they are going to be incredible parents 💕
