Cole …

Mothers and their sons. It’s a big, overwhelming and powerful love. We want to simultaneously wrap them in the safety of our arms, and also give them the freedom to explore and grow.

Leo …

Just kicking back, relaxing and waiting for his photo shoot to get underway.

Autumn …

Late afternoon, sunset family sessions are the best at this time of year. Soft, golden light and beautiful backdrops right on our doorstep. Let’s go explore.

Girls with curls …

I first photographed this family three years ago and was delighted to spend another afternoon with them yesterday. A new addition to the family, a whole lot of new curls, but the same beautiful connection and energy between them all.

I know it sounds cheesy, but one of the best parts of my job is to be invited back to capture the changing dynamics of family life.

43 years …

There’s an incredible amount to be proud of when you have created a family and home over this many years together. So lovely to spend an afternoon with Julie and Tim, with the next two generations of their family surrounding them.

Blues …

Such delicate features and strongly defined lashes remind me of the fragile porcelain dolls that would sit on display in my aunty’s cabinet.

Welcome Baby Toby …

Becoming a parent for the first time is such an exciting adventure and a whole range of emotions can occur within each hour. Carly and Brendan are definitely taking the time to breathe it all in. Enjoy it.

Baptism …

A few photos from Massimo’s special day surrounded by family and friends. Gorgeous to watch his sister keep checking in on him during the church service and providing him with reassuring kisses.

Loved …

And getting to know each other.

Massimo …

Amongst the chaos of yesterday’s storms and flooding, he was such an incredibly calm and cheerful little boy on his christening day. Here he is in church with his godparents, waiting for the ceremony to begin, while his parents were trying to arrange a new venue for lunch with all their guests after the planned one was flooded.

Happy tears …

As always, my favourite thing to do in an art gallery is stalk visitors and see how they interact with the art on display. One from the archives … Roy Lichtenstein @ MoMA, NY

Toby …

I love that I get to spend my day with excited new parents who are coming to terms with all the changes over the last two weeks since the arrival of their new baby. Welcome Toby. Looks like you are going to be in very safe hands X
