French Alps …

Arrived in the French Alps today and it’s just magnificent. The smells of pine and fresh mountain air are a heady combination. Can’t wait until we start hiking in the morning.

Petit – vs- Grand …

I can’t tell the difference between left and right, so navigating by myself can lead to all sorts of adventures. I like to think of it as allowing serendipity into my travels. It means I often end up in obscure places … but I do get rewarded with scenes like this.

Rainbow …

I love my Paris photos to be in B+W, but this one just screams colour. Lots of rainbows brightening up the Marais district in support of LGBTQ rights. All style …

I love watching French women ride bicycles … it’s usually done with high heels, a cigarette and no visible exertion. Compared to Australia where we are decked out in Lycra, dutifully wear our helmets and risk being fined for all manner of offences.

Lovers …

While walking around Paris today I’ve inadvertently been training for my hiking trip. 23kms covered … and that’s with no shopping! This photo was taken at 9pm, with the sun not setting for another hour. All the romantics making the most of the late sunshine and hot weather with waterfront picnics.

Paris …

I arrived in Paris this morning on a solo adventure as part of my self-declared, year long celebrations for my 50th. Left my family to look after themselves while I have a week in Paris, then a week hiking in the alps. As it’s a holiday from work, I’ve left my camera at home, but will upload the occasional phone photo. I’m still online for any work related queries.

Baby Theodore …

I so love this part of my job. Getting to meet families as they welcome a new baby into their home. I don’t think this little man is ever going to be short of cuddles and attention from his sisters.
